These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between you ("you", "user") and Pythesis("Pythesis", "we", "us"), governing your access to and use of the Pythesis web application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
The Service is intended for postgraduate medical, dental and allied-health students (MD / MS / DNB / MDS / PhD and similar), guides, and researchers aged 18 or above. You confirm that you are eligible when you create an account.
2. What the Service does
Pythesis offers three services that produce editable academic deliverables:
- Protocol Maker — ethics-committee-ready protocol forms (Participant Information Sheet, Informed Consent Form, Data Collection Proforma, Full Protocol).
- Review of Literature — a citation-verified literature review.
- Full Thesis — a complete thesis draft incorporating your de-identified study data, with statistics and charts.
The Service uses AI models (Large Language Models hosted by AWS Bedrock) for writing assistance, and deterministic Python code for data handling and statistics. It is provided on a credit basis: each purchase grants one (1) project credit for the relevant service.
3. Your account
- You sign in via Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
- You may not create more than one account, share your account, or transfer your account to another person.
- The Service enforces a single active session — signing in from a new device will end your session on the previous device.
- You must provide accurate information; misrepresentation may result in termination.
4. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Upload data that has not been appropriately de-identified per your Institutional Ethics Committee's requirements.
- Use the Service to fabricate research, falsify data, or generate content for academic misconduct beyond your discretion to edit.
- Resell, sub-license, or attempt to share generated content as part of a service to third parties.
- Attempt to access another user's account, project, or files.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Service's automated systems.
- Use the Service for any unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or harmful purpose.
5. AI-generated content — authorship and review
- You are and remain the author of any thesis or document you submit. The Service is a research and writing assistant.
- You are responsible for reviewing, verifying and editing every line generated by the Service before submission to your university or any ethics committee.
- The Service includes a built-in originality check and an AI-likeness self-check; these are informational only and not a substitute for your university's plagiarism detection tools or its policies on AI-assisted writing. Many institutions require disclosure of AI assistance — please check and comply with your institution's rules.
- Citations are verified against PubMed and similar databases. We strongly recommend you cross-check the most important references before finalising your thesis.
6. Intellectual property
- Your content. You retain all rights to the data you upload and the final thesis/protocol/ROL you generate and edit.
- Our software. Pythesis, the underlying code, design system, prompts, brand and logo are owned by us. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own academic work.
- Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feature ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.
7. Payments, credits and refunds
- Pricing is shown in Indian Rupees (₹) on the Service. Taxes (if applicable) are charged on top of listed prices.
- Each purchase grants one (1) credit redeemable for one (1) project of the chosen service.
- Once a credit is consumed by starting generation, it is bound to that project. The credit is not transferable to a different project.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform planned maintenance, restrict access for security reasons, or experience unplanned outages. We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions.
9. Termination
- You may close your account at any time by writing to support@pythesis.in.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably suspect of fraud, abuse, or harm to other users.
- On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive (e.g., IP, limitation of liability).
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that generated content will be free of errors, suitable for submission without review, or accepted by any particular university or ethics committee.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Pythesis or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or ₹1,000, whichever is lower.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Pythesis harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or third-party right; (d) content or data you submit to the Service.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Surat, Gujarat, India.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
